Too bad I didn't get any work done

Too bad I didn't get any work done

I've had one of the most relaxing and healthy days than I've had in...months? A year? I woke up at 7:30 for no good reason, did some laundry, listened to some music, did a mini workout taking a break for work and then I went and played soccer for around two hours. My body feels sore but good. My clothes smell fresh, discounting my clothes I'm currently wearing. Of course, I could have spent a good deal researching and writing all of the papers I've got due these upcoming weeks, but I'm way too far gone. Coincidentally, these soccer games are going to happen every Friday at 4pm even into the summer, I'd imagine. Everyone meets at Paradiso at four before driving out to the fields, if anyone's interested in getting a great weekly workout.

You'd think I'd learn

You'd think I'd learn

I'm going to admit a sad fact; I think I'm addicted to drunk emails. It's a lot like drunk purchases. Surprises are nice every now and then, even if they mean you spend the last of your money or you do something that you regret the next morning. It's almost like playing a practical joke on yourself. There's really nothing like digging myself in a hole to keep things interesting.

Watching:
  • Seconds (This Frankenheimer movie reminds me of reading The Trial by Kafka. Now, I'm not what anyone might call "able to read or write", but The Trial blew my socks off, and I was wearing some damn thick socks when I was reading that novel. For some reason I'm really attracted to that slightly skewed view of reality. So it goes.)
  • Defending Your Life

    Listening to:
  • DJ Shadow, The Private Press
  • Attack of the Killer Tomatoes soundtrack

    Thinking of:
  • Watching Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

    Ah, but for the guilt...

    Ah, but for the guilt...

This was the second weekend in a row where I did nothing productive whatsoever. While there was some amount of intentionality to my laziness last weekend, I really have no excuse for this past one. Friday night was a wash which I can sum up in this simple equation (also, I apologize for the pun):

    drinking7+2(peer pressure)+me=sick

Needless to say, I called it an early night on Friday. Saturday I played video games all day, went tangoing with several lovely young ladies, then watched everything on the Mallrats DVD with Kate and a bottle of wine. Today I watched The Manchurian Candidate, Mystery, Alaska, and Not Another Teen Movie. Yes, there was a cash transaction so that I could watch Not Another Teen Movie. I should probably be disbarred from the film kids. After watching these movies, I went to get coffee and (Authentic) French Toast from Perkin's with Kate and Eric.

It might sound like I'm complaining about all of this, and in a way I kind of am. It's sad that I can't force myself to do work when I have so little time left. On the other hand I can't fault myself for hanging out with the people I care about. I have no problem admitting that I'm a porr stoodint when I also have to admit that I love being around my friends. Not too bad of a trade-off. Go, go gadget life lesson!
