Well that's just peachy

Well that's just peachy

After waking up at 8 AM, working, and getting home at 1 AM, I stopped by my local Bank of America to deposit a fat check I'd received in the mail yesterday. I swung by the back ATMs first. All of them were temporarily out of service. So I went around front. I inserted my card, punched the buttons, slid in the envelope, grabbed my receipt, and waited for the machine to spit out my card.

But it was like, "It's stuck!"
And I was all like, "Dude, gimme my card!"
And it was like, "I'm trying. It's like caught or something."
And I was like, "I need that shit, man. That's my meal ticket."
And it was like, "I hear ya, bro, but it's not coming out."
And I was like, "Stop fucking around, dude. That's not cool, messing with a guy's cash flow."
And it was like, "...uh-oh..."
And I was like, "What?"
And it was like, "Shit..."
And I was like, "What?"
And it was like, "I swallowed it, dude."
And I was like, "What?"
And it was like," I swallowed your card, dude."
And I was like, "On a deposit?"
And it was like, "Please enter your card."
And I was like, "Fuck that."

Then I walked away. I was too tired to be angry. Then I got home and into the elevator and pushed the button for the garage even though I live on the third floor. Le groan. Hour drives to and from work are the not coolest thing ever, neither are 15 hour days. They affect my thingy...vocabulary...thing...

*thunk*

You might have noticed...

You might have noticed...

I changed the template to my blog today. It's probably just temporary because my original template got messed up due to the new Blogger navbar...I think. I don't think I did anything wrong, but it's late. We'll see how long this new format lasts.

Surprise! Porn stars!

Surprise! Porn stars!

Welp, I signed my lease for the new place today and discovered several bits of interesting information:

  • We might be having a porn star and her friend move in next door to us. I didn't catch her name, but apparently she was part of the well-renowned Barely Legal series.
  • Peter's friend is an interior decorator/designer, and the look we're going for is "Japanese Sex Palace". It sounds like it's going to be pretty hot.
  • After I get settled, Peter is throwing a 20-30 person soiree complete with DJ spin-offs, ladies and champagne and martinis being the drink of choice.

As you might note, Peter is a little different than my soon-to-be former roommates.

The good kind of brain melting

The good kind of brain melting

Well, I've got the new apartment all but locked down, but that means that I have drive all the way across town to do my current work. At the same time, I don't have to worry about living in a hostel for an indefinite period while I try to find a place while simultaneously working 12+ hours everyday. Sometime in those hours of not working, I have to figure out some way to move all of my shit from my old (current) place to my new place. Meh. If that means driving across town in traffic after work, so be it. Transitions are always a little hectic, but this one will be worth it. I'll be glad when I have some time to breathe, though. Whenever that's going to be...

[Money] out of hand, [apartment] out of mind

[Money] out of hand, [apartment] out of mind

It looks like I might have found a place to live for the coming year. It's on Echo Park Avenue a few miles away from downtown LA. I should be getting a phone call tonight from my man on the inside with all the information locked down. I'm not going to exhale until I put my money in his hands, but it's looking pretty good. The place is in a predominantly Hispanic community. As I was walking to the apartment after parking, a mariachi was playing at some kid's birthday party. It was pretty neat. I'll update you guys once I know everything for sure. Here's hoping. In the meantime, I'm listening to the Scrubs Soundtrack and Fire from Electric Six. Danger! Danger!

    ...High Voltage!

Right now I've got to get some laundry and some preliminary packing done. I've also got to gauge if I can go see Takeshi Miike's (of Audition and Dead or Alive fame) Gozu today.

[UPDATE: I'm meeting my man on the inside tomorrow, dropping off my deposit and signing my new lease tomorrow. Hooray!

Also, I didn't get around to seeing Gozu today.]
