What better way to wind down from the most stressful day of a shoot than to list everything I need to do
What better way to wind down from the most stressful day of a shoot than to list everything I need to do
There are things I hate, and one of those things forgetting to do or putting off doing of other things. For example, I bought a Françios Truffaut movie--Truffaut being one of my favorite directors, by the by--called Shoot the Piano Player on Criterion DVD which, as Brian points out, is like the crack to us film kids. I have yet to watch the bastard, like, ever.
And so, in honor of this and other things, is a list of stuff for me to take care of this weekend:
Yep. 'Bout time all that stuff happened.
I believe I just set a record for longest blog title since I started a few years ago. Congratulations, me!

You know how 8 1/2 was the movie we could never watch in one sitting? You called it the 8 1/2 curse. The curse still lives. I have several friends that have yet to sit down and watch it the whole movie in one sitting.
Also, Let me tell something to joo. I know size can be daunting, but don't be afraid, I love you.

I did somethng that I have never done before -- went to the movies by myself and saw Match Point. Have you heard anything about it or have you seen it? You should.
Reva (you do remember me, right?) :-)
Nick--
Me not getting my 8 1/2 back may be a continuation of said curse.
Kate--
I lent out The 400 Blows from that very same collection to a certain young lady with whom I no longer have any contact or contact info, so I'll never get it back. It's incredibly frustrating because I can't just buy the movie. It's got to match the badass packaging of the entire Antoine Doinel series. And don't think I haven't looked for just that movie from the collection on eBay. Goddamn fallings out. It's only the DVD collections that get hurt.
Reva--
I'm very proud of you. It can be daunting to go to the movies by oneself, but it's a nice thing to get used to. Sometimes a movie alone can be just the trick for a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I'll be honest, though. I don't know a thing about anything out right now. I haven't been following movies hardly at all in the past several months. Match Point is good, you say?
D
You lent those to the ABANDON ME IN LA Bitch????
ANGER! RAGE!
I will replace those for your birthday this year... or at least 8 1/2 as I am only a... poor, corupt public official.
yes, match point is good if you like woody allen...if you don't then I wouldn't bother...cheers!
Nick--
I only lent The 400 Blows to She Who Shall Not Be Named.
The rest--including 8 1/2--I lent to a good friend of mine that I just don't get to see nearly as often as I'd like. I hoping to hang out with her this early evening, in fact.

Do you suppose we could track her down, and rob her blind?

So I only got part of one of the things on the list done this weekend. I read Conan Volume 1: The Frost Giant's Daughter And Other Stories and The Originals, both of which were excellent. I started Promethea (Book 4), but between social obligations, errands and sleeping this weekend, I didn't have enough time to read more comics. (Or finish off that second draft of my comics article. Sorry, Eric.)
But the weekend was relaxing, so I don't really care all that much. (And I'll get the second draft to you soon, E.)

Bennyroyce--
Benny, you saucy bastard. I'm actually straight, and you can see pictures of my lovely lady in the post below this one. Thanks for the compliment, though, my friend.
Brock--
I doubt you've asked me anything at all before. Any collaboration would have to depend on what the medium is. What did you have in mind?
