Patchy hair challenge

Patchy hair challenge

I've decided not to shave my facial hair until the end of this film shoot (or until it drives me crazy). I figure I'm not going to see Jessie except for weekends for the next month so it's the best time to try and see what I look like with a month's growth. I'm curious, but mostly I've got nothing better with which to occupy my time. Anyway, here are some poorly taken self-portraits for the first week's growth.

Here's a kind of 3/4 angle.

Here's what the facial hair looks like wrapped around a funny face.

I'm fully expecting for me to look ridiculous a la Ben Affleck's embarrassing goatee in Chasing Amy, except mine will have some meager and patchy wingmen flanking on my cheeks. Jessie will have to bear with it on the weekends, but I've really got no one onset to impress and--like I said--nothing better to do.

Watching:
  • "Serial Experiments - Lain: Navi"
  • "Serial Experiments - Lain: Knights"
  • "Lost"

I also recently purchased the following DVDs:

  • Animal House
  • The Hudsucker Proxy
  • Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
  • The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
  • What Dreams May Come
  • The Talented Mr. Ripley
  • Laura
  • Amelie (Actually a replacement DVD because I haven't been able to find my original copy for close to a year.)

    Reading:
  • The Island of the Day Before
  • Promethea (Book 2)
  • Crisis On Multiple Earths, Vol. 1
  • Plastic Man: On the Lam

    drew,

you may have no one to impress, but neither to disgust either..... a goatee and a baseball hat? why don't you just save yourself the trouble and get a wife beater shirt?

You know, in that second picture it looks kind of like you're doing a bad Prince imitation.

    Katy-

...wait, are wife-beaters sexy, or do people with goatees and backwards hats actually tend to beat their wives? If that's the case, it's probably for the best that Jessie's path won't cross with mine for a month.

    Brad-

I was going for something circa 1999.

I wasn't making much sense. No wife-beaters are no better. I see them plenty around here. No, not everyone that wears them actually beats on their significant others. I'm just ragging on you.

Well, I do beat Jessie (usually in videogames but occasionally in foot races), and I don't wear a wifebeater. I think we've all learned something valuable about stereotypes today.
