I'm back! And I'm alive!

I'm back! And I'm alive!

So I met Jessie's parents last week, and it wasn't traumatic at all. Who knew?

Here's a list of firsts from the trip:

  • My first drive-in movie experience. It's like combining camping and movies. You load up on pillows, sleeping bags, flashlights, a boombox and some snacks, and you're ready to go. All that to see Dukes of Hazzard...man that movie's terrible. At least it was a double feature with Batman Begins.

  • My first time in the twin cities, Minneapolis-St. Paul. Both cities are gorgeous, but unique in their respective ways. I'm told that Minneapolis is the town you date while St. Paul is the town you marry.

  • My first time catching a garter.

    Before...

...and after. Me, the garter and the soon-to-be-plastered groom. Well, let's just call a spade a spade. He was already hammered in this picture.

  • My first time visiting the mini-golf course/batting cages...(in a while). I really just listed this so I could slip in this gem of a photo:

Baseball makes me happy. Really happy. Too bad I'm terrrrible at it.

  • The first time I got to play on a work of art during a visit to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

    Art is fun and dangerous!

  • The first time since I was a kid that I sent myself hurtling down a steep hill in a Radio Flyer.

Safe? Safe?? Of course it's safe!

  • The first time I met Jessie's family. Here's a slew of pictures:

The Sieben crew and me. From left to right: Bob (Jessie's dad), Lauri (Jessie's mom), Christi (Jessie's sister), Mike (Jessie's brother), Jessie (Jessie's self), Julian (Jessie's nephew) and yours truly (Jessie's boyfriend).

  • The first time I...honestly these are just bonus pictures of me and Julian. Enjoy.

    Awww...

    Awwww...

    Arrrrgh!!!!!

I could go into detail about the trip, but it'd be a long one. A little too long. Suffice it to say that I had a blast, and I'm almost sad to be back in the brown air and the noisy traffic. Ah well.

    Watching:
  • Stan Lee's Mutants, Monsters & Marvels
  • Muay Thai (Feh.)
  • Yours, Mine and Ours
  • Dick Tracy
  • Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

It's great to see you doing so well. I haven't updated you on me... I ended up moving out of Chicago and to Ottawa (IL) for a staff photo position. Been here a few weeks, and I'm actually pretty happy!

I love seeing things work out for people. I'm so happy you're happy!
