Happy Free Comic Day!
Happy Free Comic Day!
Man, things have been kind of crazy lately. I just finished up the last few days of filming Running with Scissors with Jessie. Before that I was pretty much working for a week and a half straight. I've got a gig tomorrow...Sunday...Mother's Day...at 6:30 in the morning. Le sigh.
I actually just got back from the Running with Scissors wrap party so I could actually get some sleep. It was kind of weird to be slightly tipsy around Brian Cox and Joe Fiennes. Actually, the last night of the shoot Jessie and I went to my favorite local bar after we wrapped to grab one drink before passing out. Not too long after we get our drinks, however, does Vince Vaughn walk in with his lady friend and another couple. The first thing I thought when he walked in? Goddamn you, Vince Vaughn. Why must you always destroy everything I love?
This, of course, isn't true, but it had been a long day and we were just looking to have a quiet drink before retiring. I never thought I'd be able to say this, but I'm so burnt out on the Hollywood scene.
Hope everyone took advantage of the best holiday of the year: Free Comic Book Day. I also hope that those who did take advantage of the day bought some comics aside from those the shops were giving away.

Mmmmm, it's pretty trippy. Very un-Monkees. Very cemetery scene from Easy Rider.

I "stumbled" on this blog and really enjoy it. I can identify with your feelings about LA- though my experiences are art-scene-centric.
Oh, how I long for the day when I too am burned out from bumping into all those damned stars all the time... ;) Hugs.
(How was Night Watch?)
Mariana--
I was just trying to have a quiet drink with my lady friend. When that jerk walked in to my bar, it was all downhill from there. The guy should've known better.
Eric--
It's not the Night Watch you're thinking of. This is the bad one with Ewan McGregor. The remake of the Dutch Night Watch. It's not the gothic fantasy one I discussed in an earlier post.
Terribleshy--
I'm glad you know what I'm saying. It's pretty easy to get used to these huge figures walking amongst us, and they can spoil things like nobody's business. Ah, love that LA scene.

no body make fun of me... for free comic book day, i got uncle scrooge! :)
...that's it? There were at least ten different comics available, man. The only one that caught your attention was Uncle Scrooge? If that's the case, that's a bit of a bummer. I will say that this year's selection was a bit lackluster (besides the great Flight comic from Image Comics).

SO... is Vince Vaughn a jerk? cause Eliza loves him.
And Id love to tell her he is in fact.. a douche.
I didn't really talk to the guy. He seemed to be having a good time when I saw him. I just know his presence ruined my quiet drink. Nothing against him. Any celebrity would've done the same thing.
