The cold front should sweep in from the kitchen, move through the living room and settle in the hallway

The cold front should sweep in from the kitchen, move through the living room and settle in the hallway

Despite common misconceptions about the Greater Los Angeles area, it does indeed get chilly around here. No problem for those people in the surrounding apartments that have working central heating. Jessie and I only recently tried to turn ours on due to a trait I inherited from my father: thriftiness. When I walked in from a long day of work last week and saw that the temperature had dipped below sixty in my apartment, however, I managed to overcome my genetics and flipped on the heat.

And nothing.

We've twice had company over since then while we crossed our fingers that our guests wouldn't freeze. Due to some oven work and no small amount of imbibing, everyone turned out okay.

So now Jessie and I have to wear tundra gear until the guy comes to fix the heat. I'm already coming down with a cold. This displeases me.

Temps in the 50's and you're breaking out the winter coats? Apparently you can take the Midwest out of the boy.

Have the temperature dip below 60 in your place, and we'll see if you're breaking out the swim trunks and sunscreen.
